I am currently house sitting in a beautiful house in northern Santa Fe, which is run by a three-legged cat. He is full of energy, walks across the keyboard on a regular and haughty basis, and demands all your attention. I have seen him run carefree across the 2nd floor deck railing, climb trees and attack dogs, all without the use of his rear left leg. The owners found him, have no idea what caused the injury, but handled the amputation. Micah is incredible, and I admire him immensely. I doubt I could adjust as well as he after such a trauma.
Hats off to Micah, who makes my life better simply by adopting me as his friend.

Yipes
So I went from one full-time job and a dream to four part time jobs. Yipes. I am writing, working part time at the local home improvement store (in plumbing of all things), house sitting and working on my friend's Quick Books account over the internet. Somewhere in here, I am caring for my four cats, trying to maintain a romantic relationship with my guy, caring for his two dogs, and learning how to use my laptop. Oh yeah, and sometimes I sleep and eat. But not much. Look out world, here I come. Be there in a minute.

Why not?
Why not have a blog? I guess MySpace could serve the same purpose, but the code to get into my MySpace account has long joined the detritus that consists of old receipts, hastily jotted-down phone numbers, notes that seemed critical at the time I wrote them. So I have self-destructed my intentions for MySpace....I chose Perfect North because that is my avatar's name on Second Life - another place I can't go anymore because I cannot download the "latest" upgrade. Good grief. I am digitally painting myself into a corner.
Back to the blog. I will use this space to record my transition to freelance writer. That would be transitioning from someone who actually earns money to someone who is trying to do so.
Since I was 13, I have set my goal in life to being a writer. Now I am 55.5 years old, and time to get the show on the road.
